victorjwebstertattoo: I am excited to announce my first solo

I am excited to announce my first solo painting show 'Salt Water Out Rig'. I have been making abstract paintings for almost as long as I've been tattooing, mostly in private. It started as a way to explore different visual merits without trying to please an audience. It has been incredibly challenging but also hugely rewarding, figuring out what works and what doesn't, coming up against some of the concerns painting offers that tattooing lacks and embracing some of the things I love most about tattooing: repetition, scale, simplicity, pattern; and finding a way for them to filter back into my paintings I am elated to share some of these works with you all and see what comes next. Opening tomorrow night at Mariboe Gallery, Swig Art Center, Hightstown, NJ.
