gypsetgoddess: To tell you the truth, my Instagram page

To tell you the truth, my Instagram page has been feeling pretty inauthentic to me for awhile now. 😬 . Ever since it became the way I make my living, I feel as if I’ve slowly stopped sharing, or even discarded, lovable and unique parts of myself, in the hopes of being as marketable as possible. 😔 . Lately I haven’t been able to post, because I’m making authenticity one of my top priorities in 2019, and the captions I came up with and the photos I thought of sharing oscillated between feeling “not enough” and flat out fake. 😬 . Gypset Goddess and Caitlin Turner used to be the same person, but they aren’t anymore. They grew in different directions, and that’s ok. Pardon my writing in the third person, but get ready to have more Caitlin thrown in here. 💃🏼 . For example, this photo was taken at sunrise in Joshua Tree and the temperature was below freezing. ❄️ . Before, I would have set my feelings and well-being aside, and made getting THE shot my top priority. I would have stripped down to leggings and a sports bra, been incredibly cold and physically uncomfortable while faking a face of serenity, and then shared it with you, accompanied by a caption that I felt uninspired to write, but still crafted for maximum inspiration and comment potential (but only after fixing all of the typos resulting from the fact that I couldn’t feel my thumbs while typing). 🙄 . Nothing about that is real, and I’ve grown tired of upholding the fantasy. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . Instead, here’s a photo of me wearing sweatpants and a real smile, and feeling warm enough to actually enjoy this sunrise. For me, a real smile beats a perfect yoga photo any day. 😃 . It may not get as many likes, but I’m actively making “doin it for the gram” and living for likes, things of my past. I always thought it would be scary to share the real me, but in fact, it’s incredibly liberating. 💥 . So, on that note, cheers to sweatpants, real smiles, and happier days ahead! 💃🏼 . 📸: Feeling cozy in new spring line 😍

gypsetgoddess: Every new year, I consider writing down my

Every new year, I consider writing down my goals and resolutions, but I never do, because I’ve been too afraid to commit and then potentially fail. 🚫 . 2019 let’s go! I’m writing it all down this time, because I’m ready for my dreams to be my reality. I’m so tired of being my own worst enemy, and I’m ready to be my biggest champion! 💥 Side note: anyone know where I can track down this pen? I’m pretty sure it might have magical powers (and if not, I’ll trust in the placebo effect). 😜 . UPDATE: This pen is made by 😍

gypsetgoddess: There’s a scene in the movie Runaway

There’s a scene in the movie Runaway Bride, where Richard Gere asks Julia Roberts how she likes her eggs. 🍳 . He’s asking her, because he has realized that her answer was different with each of her ex-fiancés... it always matched theirs. 😳 . The truth is, she doesn’t know the answer, because she had gotten so good at saying the “right” answer for whomever she was with, that she hadn’t taken the time to listen to her inner voice in years. 😕 . He cooks her each of the types of eggs that she had previously said were her favorite, she tries them all, and for the first time in years, she is empowered to make a choice for herself, rather than trying to please anyone else. She figures out how SHE likes her eggs. Trust me, it’s powerful. 🙌🏼 . Lately, I feel like I may have forgotten how I like my metaphorical eggs. I’ve been too busy trying to say and be what I think others want or need from me, and I’ve been doing it for too long. 🙅🏼‍♀️ . 2019 is already showing me that it’s time for me to figure out how I like my eggs in every area of my life. I’m ready to be more vulnerable, be more honest, and tune into what I really want out of this life. 💥 . That was a big share in the form of a movie scene synopsis. Hope you feel me. 💗 . 📸: Rocking:

gypsetgoddess: A little different than my usual posts, but

A little different than my usual posts, but a friend sent me this video and it made me feel so happy and full of hope that I just had to share. 💗 If I can even begin to exude the amount of good vibes in this video in 2019, I’ll consider it a successful year. 🙌🏼 . Now I’ll just leave this here to make your day a little (or a lot) brighter and remind you that 2019 is your year to shine! 😃✨💗 . 📹:

gypsetgoddess: I woke up this morning with a feeling

I woke up this morning with a feeling of endless potential for the year ahead, and I needed it after feeling a little hopeless and lost many times during 2018. 🙏🏼 . Last night I was bemoaning to a friend that the older I get, and the more complicated life becomes, the less magical holidays, especially Christmas and New Years, start to feel. 😒 Well, that was last night. 👋🏼 . Today, despite my pessimism, and much to my surprise, the world does actually feel magical, in a way that it hasn’t in years. I feel it again. ✨ It’s a new day, in a new year, and a beautiful reminder that today won’t always feel like yesterday, and this year won’t always feel like last year. It could be the same, better, or worse, but you never know until you wake up and get going the next day and the next year. 🔮 2019 I’m so ready for all of the growth, laughter, magic, challenges, tears (both happy and sad), love, learning, and everything else you’re going to put in my path. Let’s do this! 💥 . 📸: 🧥:

gypsetgoddess: I wanted to share the biggest lesson I

I wanted to share the biggest lesson I learned in 2018, but in the end I couldn’t decide on just one. So I narrowed it down to three: 1. I am capable of far more than I ever realized, and the biggest thing holding me back has been my own limiting beliefs of “I can’t” and/or “I don’t know how”, but the truth is, once I rise above my fears and try, all it takes is some effort and I can figure almost anything out. 2. The things that frustrate me in others truly are the things that I need to look at within myself (heard it a thousand times, but this year taught me it’s actually true) 3. Having an organized environment is essential for my peace of mind, creativity, and productivity. When friends commented on the general disarray of my home, I used to say I just had my own systems of organization and knew where everything was, but the truth is I was just being messy and could never find anything. Life is sweeter when the home is cleaner. What’s the biggest lesson you learned in 2018? 💗 . 📸: Rocking:

gypsetgoddess: No big inspiring caption today, just a reminder

No big inspiring caption today, just a reminder that life isn’t ever as perfect as it looks on social media. 💗 . In this world of effortless yoga photos, swipe to see a delightful behind the scenes look at the making of this one. 😂 . When you’re scrolling through your feed, comparing yourself to everyone else’s highlight reel, remember that behind every photo that makes it to the ‘gram, there are several (often many) like photo 2. 🙌🏼 . Keep doing you (because you’re awesome), and take anything you see on social media with a grain of salt and a sense of humor. 💗 . 📸: Rocking:

gypsetgoddess: I get a lot of comments asking how

I get a lot of comments asking how to start practicing yoga. 🧘🏼‍♀️ . My go-to answer used to be “pick a class at your local studio that sounds fun, and try it out!” 🙌🏼 . But I hear you, it’s not always that easy for a lot of reasons: there isn’t a studio in your area, you’re afraid you’ll feel embarrassed or lost, or maybe the classes at the studio near you are too expensive. These are all totally valid concerns. 😬 . Now I have a new answer, and it addresses all of these concerns: sign up for ! 💡 . You can try tons of different classes (including 2 from me!), at a variety of levels, with amazing teachers, and you can do all of it from the comfort of your own home (or anywhere!). 😃 . A lot of the studios around me charge $20/class, and that definitely adds up quickly. Luckily, just in time for your New Years resolution to start practicing yoga, is offering 30% off an annual membership (which means only $12/month!). 🙏🏼 . If finding a consistent yoga practice is on your 2019 agenda, this is an awesome (and cost-effective) way to jumpstart your journey. Link to my classes is in my bio! 💗

gypsetgoddess: What is one thing that brought you joy

What is one thing that brought you joy today? I’ve been asking myself that question every night for the last few weeks, and I’ve begun to notice certain patterns. 🤔 One of them is, that there is a certain kind of cotton candy sunset, that has the ability to momentarily make me forget any fears and stresses, and simply replace them with joy and awe. ☀️ . When it’s especially beautiful, I call a friend, and tell them to go outside, then I stay on the phone until they do, so we can enjoy the sunset splendor together. 😍 Even though I’m inspired by everything I’m working on with my new job, I’ve been struggling with adjusting to life often feeling like all work and no play lately. I’m learning that a successful work-life balance is actually something you need to work at, and I’m not very good at it yet. Kudos to those of you who have mastered it! 🤯 I miss my free time and my friends a lot, so I’m extra grateful for these shared sunsets, even if it’s only a few minutes by phone. 🙏🏼 . The calls bring me as much joy as the sunset, and no matter how tired or stressed I am, I’m reminded each time I see the sky and pick up my phone, that I’m really grateful too. 😊 . 📸:

gypsetgoddess: The idea of connecting openly and deeply with

The idea of connecting openly and deeply with strangers sometimes gives me a lot of anxiety. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . As I worked with my teammates to plan last nights Tap x event, I knew that the night was based around , and it had me feeling a little nervous. 🙈 . I knew I was probably in for some intense eye-gazing (and awkwardness usually for me lol), and that alone had me kinda jittery. 😳 . As I often am in cases like this, I’m so grateful that I pushed through my resistance and immersed myself fully in acknowledging and connecting with a few of my old friends, and so many new ones as of last night. It turned out to be a magical experience! ✨ . My biggest takeaway is this: people want to feel seen and want to connect, but society teaches us to avoid these more profound connections with acquaintances/strangers, in favor of more shallow interactions. Resist the temptation and dive in. Dive deep, and you’ll be rewarded. 💗 . Grateful to for preparing an epic zero-waste vegan dinner, and to everyone who came out to our event last night. 🙏🏼 . It was so inspiring to see so many like-minded digital and real-world water warriors for connection and change. 💗 . Nights like these remind me that: individually, we are each powerful forces, but together, we can impact the whole world!💥 . 📸: Location:

gypsetgoddess: When I was trying to figure out how

When I was trying to figure out how to style this fanny pack, it seemed self-explanatory...until suggested I wear it like a cross-body bag. 🤔 At first I legit thought she was messing with me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Seriously? A fanny pack as a purse? Why wouldn’t you just carry a purse then? This doesn’t make sense. Are you f*cking with me? 🤯 Turns out, despite me being completely unaware, this trend is a real thing. Goes to show how up on trends I am. 😂 I live a life where trends inform me, but they don’t define me. That being said, I’m game for trying, just about, anything before making a I stuck my arm and head through, and rocked this baby like a purse for a couple hours. 🙈 I’m smiling so big in this photo, because I couldn’t stop laughing. There are awesome women out there who can pull off this trend and make it their own, but it turns out, I’m not one of them. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . Worth a try though, because why not? I like being pleasantly surprised, when I’m doubting something, but in the end, it looks like I’ll be rocking this little fanny pack as it was intended from now on. 😊 Comment and share a fashion trend you think is funny, or that you tried and realized wasn’t right for you. 👗👙🧢 . 📸: Top, jacket: 😍
