atlantabean: On the newest episode of my podcast ✨I’

On the newest episode of my podcast ✨I’m Over It✨ I sat with a friend who took the time to educate me on many of the issues sex workers regularly face. Due to the recent passing of the SESTA/FOSTA bill, raising awareness about sex work has NEVER been more important.Β  I didn’t fully understand what the bill truly meant, but I knew that in theory its goal was to end human trafficking. OBVIOUSLY that seems like a necessary law to put into place, but the reality is that this bill has left many, many, many, consensual sex workers in an even more dangerous position, often forcing many of them onto the streets. I didn’t understand the severity of the problem, but after recording this podcast I do now, and we REALLY need to start talking about sex work. Sex workers regularly face an UNIMAGINABLE amount of violence and sexual assault, and the rates have gone up 400% since SESTA/FOSTA was passed. So if you’re interested in learning about the realities of ~*~CONSENSUAL*~* sex work, what decriminalization would mean for their community, and how you can support their cause, (which you should) please, please listen to this podcast. Sex workers are some of the most stigmatized and marginalized group of people and they need your support and love too! Educate yourself and your friends. It's 2019. Swipe left ⬅️ for some facts. PSA: Regardless of how you feel about the sex work industry, sex workers, like ANY other people who work ANY other job, deserve support and basic protection. The ability to safely work and support themselves financially is a human right. Sex work is work!! Thank you to my beautiful friend who sat with me and did this podcast. atlantabean: Although most of the people I have in

Although most of the people I have in my life at this point have an understanding of mental illness, I still struggle with this stuff... ESPECIALLY when meeting new people or entering into new work relationships. Some of my favorite/most frequent narratives that get in the way are, β€œI’m too much”, β€œI’m a lot to deal with” and β€œI’m definitely gonna fuck this up”. On a good day I can tell those thoughts to fuck off but on a bad day I’ll tell a friend so THEY can tell those thoughts so fuck off! What are yours and what do you do to cope? WHO CAN RELATE? 🎨 work by βœ¨πŸ’—
