2 of my favourite snacks!! 😍😍 . Diet: Such a loosely used term, I don't like it. Before I took my excess weight seriously, I was one of them who will go crazy on fad diets, lose the weight and then back to my old habits again coz those diets were just not sustainable in the long run. . I tried a 7 days program which required me to drink a meal replacement shake + workouts, to lose weight. The representative checked on my meals for the first day, the number of calories then disappeared and only remembered of my existence when I texted..🤷‍♀️ Deep down, I knew that it wouldn't work out coz a shake for every meal is a little too much for me coz I love my real, authentic food! So that was obviously a no-go for me.. . Then I went on a low carb, low sugar diet but I couldn't maintain it as my cravings got worse and I would have loads of binge days and I put on all of the 5kgs (and more!) I lost in that 2 weeks. Being a typical Asian, I love my rice and noodles and depriving myself from all that goodness was too much.. . So which diet do I follow now? NONE! And it makes me happy! =) I don't stress myself out counting calories, I eat whatever I feel like eating but in moderation. I try to eat healthy as much as possible too, with homecooked meals 90% of the time + I sneak in some snacks during the day too..hehe..just work a little harder during workout days..😉 . I am also doing a 16:8 intermittent fasting on a daily basis (24hrs if I am in the mood) but if I don't feel like it, I just don't fast coz I can break my own rules, as and when I want to..😂 . But I do cut down on carbs 3 hours before a run coz it makes me feel so lethargic and coz I run soooo slow, I sometimes feel sleepy too..😴 . My simple rule is: Eat so that you won't be hungry, don't eat to make yourself full.. ✌🏻😎 . journey ners ness

Back then I used to suffer lower back pain and it heavily affected my profession – then I was a personal trainer and a track and field athlete. . After going through chiropractic adjustments myself, I started to have more range of motion and was out of pain!(Also part of the reason why I’m in love with what I do and have become a chiropractor myself) . Now that I have more time on my hands, I’m determined to get back to the fitness level I was before I had kids. Five years ago, I was doing military style bootcamps, ran up the Empire State Building, did half-marathons, yoga, aerial yoga, and Bollywood dance workouts. Let’s be real, this kinda time dedication to exercise can only happen in the pre-kids era. Realistically, I won’t be able to do aaaalll of that but I can choose to focus on 1-2 types of workouts and stick to them. Consistency. Discipline. Motivation. These three factors are key and will keep me on track. This past weekend, I did my first duathlon (running & biking) and it was challenging but incredibly fun, especially since I did it with my husband and a group of friends. So while my legs feel wooden right now, it’s a happy sore feeling because I feel strong, toned, and fit. If you’re feeling stuck in a rut, find a workout that gets you pumped up & going!
